Jumbo jubilee transports 44m high vertical lay system
JUBILEE
In the beginning of July 2015, MV Jumbo Jubilee safely completed the transportation of a 876t Vertical Lay System (VLS). Jumbo was awarded the contract based on the good cooperation with REEL S.A.S. on similar projects and the Crane capacity of the Jumbo Jubilee.
Long term working relationship
Jumbo has been working with REEL S.A.S. on previous projects and is familiar with the industry, the requirements and culture of REEL S.A.S., which all contributes to prepare and execute the project on time and within budget.
VLS System
The VLS measuring 32 x 16x 44m is a subsea laying system for the Offshore Oil and Gas industry. The VLS was transported from Gdynia, Poland to La Rochelle, France. The final assembly of the VLS system will be done in La Rochelle from where it will be transported and installed on board the installation vessel Normand Maximus.
Operations
The VLS was discharged at 20m outreach in La Rochelle, a distance that not many heavy lift vessels can cover with this type of cargo.

We had good cooperation between the vessel crew and the shore teams. Everything ran smooth and the vessel departure will be on time. Completion

REEL S.A.S.
REEL S.A.S. is an independent company that develops, manufactures, installs and maintains complex handling systems. Through their subsidiary, IMECA REEL provides laying equipment for pipelay operators.
